Watch how it works

Step 1 of 6. Open your assistant's settings and choose Connectors.

An illustration of connecting a generic assistant, not a recording. Your assistant's menus may be named differently, and the link to use is the one on this page.

  1. Open your assistant's settings and choose Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it AEC Agent and paste the link.
  4. Add it, then press Connect.
  5. Sign in to AEC Agent and approve access.
  6. Ask a regulation question. The answer cites the clause and page.

Steps for your assistant

  1. Open Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop) and go to Settings, or Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it AEC Agent and paste the connector link.
  4. Choose Add, then Connect.
  5. Sign in to AEC Agent and approve access.
  6. In a chat, turn the AEC Agent connector on from the tools menu.

The Free, Pro and Max plans can add a custom connector. On Team and Enterprise an organisation owner adds it once for everyone.

Menu names change from time to time. Look for Connectors, Apps or Plugins.

Try it

Once it is connected, ask your assistant something like:

  • What is the minimum stair width in the Maharashtra UDCPR?
  • Compare the fire exit requirements for a 4-storey residential building in two cities.
  • Which clauses apply to a basement car park, and on which pages are they?

If something goes wrong

It says your account is not active.
Sign up at AEC Agent first, or ask the administrator who invited you to turn your account on.
It says you have no plan or no requests left.
Open Your plan after signing in. A new account has a free sample; buy a plan or a pass when it runs out.
The assistant does not use AEC Agent.
Turn the connector on in the chat, or mention AEC Agent by name in your question.
You cannot add a connector in a team workspace.
An organisation owner or workspace admin adds it once. Ask them to use the steps above.
